Privacy Policy
Cantino ยท Effective October 11, 2026
Cantino keeps track of a home bar. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and it doesn't sell or share your information.
Your bar stays in your iCloud
Bottles, locations, recipes, photos and history are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account, through Apple's CloudKit. We can't see them. When you share a bar, Apple's sharing sends it to the people you invite.
AI features
Some features use Claude, an AI from Anthropic: reading label and shelf photos, looking bottles up on the web, price checks, pairings, menus, and reading recipes or spreadsheet columns you import. The app asks before the first one. When you use one, the photo or text goes through our server to Anthropic only to produce the answer, and isn't kept by us. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models. You can turn AI features off in Settings.
What our server keeps
- A count of each phone's AI requests per day, kept 48 hours, for fair-use limits.
- Technical logs: which feature ran, how long it took and what it cost, with a short label for the phone. No photos, text or bottle details.
- A guest menu, only if you publish one: the bar's name, the bottle and drink names you chose, and its logo, until you stop sharing it or 90 days after its last update.
Barcode lookups
To identify a barcode the app may ask Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb. Only the barcode number is sent. Public details about a product found by its barcode (its name, description, photo links and typical price) are kept on our server so the next lookup of that barcode is instant. Nothing about you or your bar is kept with them.
Notifications
Freshness and shopping reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us.
Age
Cantino is for adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
